"...weeping may endure for the night, but
joy comes in the morning." [Psalm 30:5b]
Laura entered Christian ministry with her marriage to Dr. Bill Trapp in 1973. He was a pastor, and she the "preacher's wife," in Southern Baptist life and ministry for 27 years.
During these years of ministry Laura consistently had a Bible teaching ministry to adults and also formed and led womens ministries in their churches, as a co-minister beside her husband. Bill was senior pastor of York Terrace Baptist Church in Sheffield, Alabama from 1974-1979, West Parkway Baptist Church in Azle, Texas from 1979-1987 and Woodmont Baptist in Florence, Alabama from 1987-2000.
In 1997, a surprise diagnosis of Lou Gehrig's disease in Brother Bill, Laura's apparently healthy husband, sent their lives and church spinning, turning their world upside down. But, in suffering and trial, God has a way of turning things right side up, when we trust Him in the fire.
Three and one half years later, Bill was called to be with Jesus, but he left behind a church family that was CHANGED by the exercise of faith and a legacy of faith that has endured.
Lauras ministry did not end with Bills death, but has continued through her own intinerant ministry to women. These lessons of faith and triumph, learned in the fire, combined with thirty years experience in Bible teaching, make for a powerful ministry to women in all stages of life. Laura is adept at mixing humor with deep truths, and is a transparent communicator who is gifted in both topical and exegetical speaking.
Laura is now married to Dr. Robert Rodich. They reside in Louisville, Kentucky. Laura is mother to three fine sons, step mother to another four sons, and grandmother to nine. She holds a masters degree in elementary education and has taught in both public and Christian schools . Laura also received a second masters degree in Christian Leadership and Womens Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
She is a published author and a regular contributor to a major Christian newspaper in the southern U.S. Laura is also a graduate of C.L.A.S.S , SpeakUp, and Dynamic Communications speakers seminars.
